Nursery Class
Maples Nursery school and Children’s Centre provides childcare for children from 2 – 5 years.
All children are eligible for 15 free hours of education, the term after their third birthday. We are able to offer 15 hours in a variety of ways to support children and families, subject to availability. When applying for a place you will be asked for a preference from the following options:
Monday – Friday | 9.00 – 12.00 |
Monday – Friday | 12.45 – 15.45pm |
Two days per week | 9.00 – 16.30pm |
Additional hours are available on request and fees generally apply.
We provide a number of places to meet the 30 hour offer for working parents. If you think you may be eligible for 30 funded hours of childcare, please click on childcare choices. You will need to bring the 11 digit code with you when applying for a 30 hour nursery place.
We offer 30 hours in the following way:

9.00 - 3.45pm There is a fee of £8 per day to cover additional staffing costs during the lunch break. |
If your child stays for a full day you will need to provide a packed lunch. At lunch time and after school, the children go to the community room and are cared for by staff from the extended day team.
From 9.00 – 12.00 and 12.45 – 3.45 children will be in the nursery classroom.
